ObviousPDF License Agreement

1. Grant of License

Subject to the terms of this Agreement, the author ("Licensor") grants you ("Licensee") a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the ObviousPDF software library ("Software") as follows:

1.1 Free Tier — Individuals & Small Teams

The Software is licensed at no cost to:

• Individual developers for personal or professional use.
• Organizations, companies, or entities that employ fewer than 10 people (including contractors, full-time, and part-time employees).

1.2 Enterprise Tier — Organizations with 10+ Employees

Organizations, companies, or entities that employ 10 or more people are required to purchase an annual license subscription at a flat rate of $100 USD per year. This fee covers unlimited developers within the organization.

1.3 Permitted Use

Under either tier, Licensee may:

• Use the Software to generate PDF documents for any lawful purpose.
• Integrate the Software into applications, services, or products.
• Distribute applications that depend on the Software.

1.4 Restrictions

Licensee may not:

• Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Software itself as a standalone product or library.
• Remove or alter any copyright notices, license files, or attribution included with the Software.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except as permitted by applicable law.

2. Intellectual Property

The Software and all accompanying documentation, fonts, and resources are the intellectual property of the Licensor. This Agreement does not transfer ownership of the Software. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by the Licensor.

3. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

The Licensor makes no warranty or representation that:

• The Software will meet your requirements or expectations.
• The Software will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
• PDF documents generated by or with the Software will be accurate, legally compliant, accessible, valid, or fit for any particular purpose.
• PDF documents generated by or with the Software will conform to any specific standard, regulation, or specification (including but not limited to PDF/UA, PDF/A, WCAG, Section 508, ISO 14289, ISO 32000, or any accessibility or archival standard).

4. No Indemnification

THE LICENSOR SHALL NOT INDEMNIFY, DEFEND, OR HOLD HARMLESS THE LICENSEE OR ANY THIRD PARTY AGAINST ANY CLAIMS, DAMAGES, LOSSES, LIABILITIES, COSTS, OR EXPENSES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS' FEES) ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO:

• The use of the Software or any PDF documents generated by or with the Software.
• Any claim that PDF documents produced by the Software infringe upon or violate any intellectual property right, privacy right, or other right of any third party.
• Any regulatory, legal, or compliance action arising from the content, structure, accessibility, or format of PDF documents generated by or with the Software.
• Any reliance on accessibility checks, validation reports, or compliance features provided by the Software.

5. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, WHETHER IN AN ACTION IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR OTHERWISE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE OR ANY PDF DOCUMENTS GENERATED BY OR WITH THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF THE LICENSOR HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

THE LICENSOR'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER THIS AGREEMENT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY THE LICENSEE FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

6. PDF Output Disclaimer

PDF documents generated by or with the Software are produced entirely at the Licensee's risk. The Licensor:

• Does not guarantee the legal validity, enforceability, or admissibility of any PDF document generated by the Software.
• Does not guarantee compliance of generated PDFs with any accessibility standard, archival standard, or regulatory requirement.
• Does not guarantee that digital signatures applied by the Software will be recognized, trusted, or legally binding in any jurisdiction.
• Bears no responsibility for the content, accuracy, completeness, or legality of information placed into PDF documents by the Licensee.
• Bears no responsibility for any damages, losses, or liabilities arising from the use, distribution, or reliance upon PDF documents generated by the Software.

It is the sole responsibility of the Licensee to verify that PDF documents generated by the Software meet all applicable legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements before use or distribution.

7. Bundled Font Licenses

The Software includes bundled fonts licensed under the SIL Open Font License v1.1 (OFL). These fonts are:

• CMU Serif (Computer Modern Unicode) — Times substitute
• Sora — Helvetica/Arial substitute
• CMU Typewriter (Computer Modern Unicode) — Courier substitute

The SIL OFL permits bundling, embedding, and redistribution of fonts with software. Full license texts are included in the Fonts/resources/ directory.

8. Third-Party Components

The Software depends on one runtime NuGet package:

9. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. The Licensor may terminate this Agreement immediately if the Licensee breaches any term herein. Upon termination, the Licensee must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies in their possession.

10. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Licensor resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.

11. Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the Software and supersedes all prior negotiations, representations, or agreements relating thereto.

12. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, copying, or otherwise using the Software, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.
